A flooring retailer has invested £125,000 and created three new jobs through the opening of a new store in Edinburgh – it’s first in Scotland.
The 4,000 square foot Flooring Superstore opened this month on the city’s Seafield Road Retail Park.
Shoppers will be able to buy products from three brands – Flooring Superstore, Direct Wood Flooring and Grass Direct. The brands are owned by Connection Retail, a flooring company which started life online just over five years ago but now also has nine physical stores across the UK.
The Edinburgh store is the third store to open this year, following other openings in Newport and Swindon in January.
Managing Director Dan Foskett said: “We are delighted to have opened a new store in Edinburgh, meaning we now have a presence in Scotland, England and Wales.
“2018 represents the largest expansion to date of our bricks and mortar growth programme, which will complement the significant online presence we have built up since starting trading in 2012.
“This will see our annual turnover rise from £24 million to £35 million but, importantly, shoppers will still pay online prices when they are in our stores.”
Edinburgh store manager James Liddell said: “We are providing shoppers with unique access to a wide range of flooring under one roof, something no other flooring retailer can match.
“This includes quality carpets, wood flooring, laminate, luxury vinyl tiles and even artificial grass.
“By bringing together three brands we are providing people with a one-stop-shop for all their flooring needs, reflecting the fact that householders are now likely to have multiple flooring choices inside and outside their home.”
